Tzatziki
Sean and Jessica made this recipe for the first time at Doug and Sonia's on boxing day 2016. It was a hit and everyone loved it!

Granola
Julia found this recipe and made it several times before heading off to college. Ever since, Sonia and I make it regularly, since we could not find a granola that we like enough to buy from a grocery store. Granola

Tomato Butter Sauce
A long time ago we received a cookbook as a gift and this Tomato Butter Sauce recipe was in it. Since that time, we have been unable to find a better all-purpose tomato sauce. It is silky and smooth and perfect for so many things. You make it in two stages, first making a basic Tomato-Basil sauce, then using that as a base for the Tomato Butter sauce. Tomato Basil Sauce

Corn Bread
As part of our Cajun Thanksgiving celebration in 2016 we looked for a cornbread recipe that would stand up to the rest of the meal. We ended up using a combination recipe and as a result I am going to claim this one as my own unique recipe.

Cajun Jambalaya
For the last several years, we have adopted an alternate Thanksgiving meal format and this year's genre was Cajun. As such, we went looking for an authentic Cajun Jambalaya recipe and we settled on this one from Emeril Lagasse. Avocado & Shrimp Chopped Salad
A great summer salad that you can play with by adding things that you really like or subtracting things that you don't like (e.g., onions). Courtesy of Eating Well.

White Bean Chicken Chili
White bean chicken chili is one of those comfort foods that warms you up on a cold day. This recipe from Giada De Laurentis is the best one I've found. We've been making it for years and it never disappoints.

Fall Bourbon Cocktail
Those of you who know me, know that I am NOT a bourbon drinker, or a scotch drinker. Everything in that genre of spirits is much more along Sonia's taste, not mine. One of the few exceptions to that rule is Sonia's Fall Bourbon Cocktail. It's one of the few bourbon based drinks that I will raise my hand for when she is making them.

Almond Cake
Simple, yet delicious is the best way to describe this amazingly moist and flavorful cake. If friends are coming over for dinner, you can rest assured that Almond Cake is on the menu. On a recent visit, our friend Gary said to me "I don't know how you do it, if this was in my house, I'd eat it for breakfast". To which I replied "yeah, what's wrong with that?" One 9-inch or 10-inch (23-25 cm) cake. This cake is best made in the food processor. If using a stand mixture, use the paddle attachment and let the mixer run until the almond paste is finely broken up.

Salmon Orzo
This is one of those recipes where every time we make it we say "we should have this more often". It is easy to prepare, incredibly tasty and very healthy. It also happens to be another recipe where we often replace the salmon with steelhead. Wine recommendation: Pinot Noir - like the Big Farm Table Pinot on our Drinks page

Pancakes
It just wouldn't be a cookbook without a pancake recipe for our family. This recipe is ingrained in my brain from literally hundreds, if not thousands of executions. I haven't looked at a printed version of this recipe in more than 10 years. The great thing about it is that you can create your own variations, as desired.

Salmon Rice Bowl
This has turned into a family favorite. Although we now use steelhead instead of salmon. For those unfamiliar with steelhead, it looks and tastes a lot like salmon, but it is actually trout. Ocean going trout. Salmon Marinade Ingredients:
