Cherry Almond Cake
It is cherry season in Washington State, so when I saw this recipe pop up, I had to give it a try. I'm glad I did. Recipe courtesy of Katiebird Bakes.

Seed Crackers
We purchased a package of seed crackers from our local grocery store and loved them so much, that we went in search of a recipe to duplicate at home. We ran across this recipe from the True North Kitchen for Seed Crackers, otherwise known as Norwegian Crispbread. It was quite easy and super tasty. The trick is trying to get the batter thin enough to produce very thin yet stable cracker.

Easy Naan Bread
This recipe for homemade naan bread could not be any easier. There are 4 ingredients and the entire process takes about 10 mins, and they even freeze well.

Pizza Dough
Source: Hot Stove Society We attended the Hot Stove Society, Pizza at Home class last night and brought home this pizza dough recipe. It's fantastic and will be our new standard for pizza dough at home.

Peanut Butter, Banana Breakfast Cookie
Easy, and convenient breakfast options are popular in our house, and this one is at the top of our list. Easy to mix up, and bake, we also discovered that the cookie dough freezes well, and you can take it right out of the freezer into the oven for a super convenient option, in about the time it takes to make your morning coffee.

Olive Oil Cake
This is quickly becoming the new favorite cake in our house, which is quite an accomplishment given the popularity of our Almond Cake. It's simple, flavorful, and not too sweet, with just a hint of lemon.

Chocolate Chip Ricotta Cake

Fresh Lemon Blueberry Scones
This lemon-blueberry scone recipe yields a flaky, buttery, sugar-crusted, and berry-loaded scone. Buttermilk makes the crumb, especially tender, and a hint of fresh lemon zest so nicely complements the berries, adding a touch of brightness, too.

Chocolate Chip Cookies
In searching for the "best" chocolate chip cookie recipe ever, I ran into several candidates (e.g., Original Toll House Cookie), but the Jacques Torres recipe stood out for me due to the gourmet nature of the recipe and ingredients. When making these cookies, keep the following points in mind: Turn any chocolate discs that are poking up from the dough horizontally so that they melt evenly into the cookie. If you want your cookies to have a cake-like texture, replace one of the eggs with 2 egg yolks. Try different high-end brown sugar options to see which one matches your palate - e.g., turbinado, demerara, or muscovado. Get creative! Add your favorite nuts, raisins, or other sweet dried fruits for a personal flavor.
